IOP
Adult Intensive Outpatient Substance Abuse Program Sam Jones, L.P.C. - Program Director Developed
for people who are new to recovery or who are returning after a
relapse, the Adult Intensive Outpatient Substance Abuse Program
(IOP) provides intensive evening treatment up to 3 nights a week
to adults
with
substance
abuse
problems.
The program utilizes a step-down approach, which focuses directly
on the role of alcohol and drugs as they relate to problem feelings
and behaviors, and how problems may be solved without turning
to alcohol and drugs. Because the program meets in the evenings,
it allows individuals to remain employed and live at home while
getting the help they need. The IOP includes, but is not limited
to:
- Individualized Treatment Plans
- Drug & Alcohol Education
- Relapse Prevention
- Case Management
- Family Education & Support
- Communication with Community Professionals
(as appropriate)
- 12-Step Participation is a Requirement of the Program
- Additional
Referrals for Needed Medical, Psychiatric, or Other Services
are Available
The IOP is one of the only state licensed, intensive,
outpatient substance abuse programs in this area, and has been
carefully designed in a step-by-step phase fashion to achieve optimal
success.
IOP - Phase 1: Phase 1 is appropriate for individuals who have
made poor decisions around alcohol and/or other drugs repeatedly.
Phase 1 focuses
on education about the disease process, recovery tasks, and relapse
prevention planning. The group is designed to develop skills
to deal with tasks that are part of the early recovery process,
and to develop skills for relapse prevention.
IOP - Phase 2: Phase 2 is appropriate for those
individuals who have completed Phase 1 or any individual who has
recently completed
a residential
or inpatient treatment program and is in need of an aftercare
program. Phase 2 focuses on assuming personal responsibility
by making good choices, as well as using the tools needed to
stay on track with recovery.
IOP - Phase 3: Phase 3 is appropriate for those
individuals who have completed Phase 2 and are dedicated to staying
clean. Phase
3 focuses on
the maintenance of personal recovery, as well as helping individuals
use community resources for on-going support.

Social Achievers
A Social Skills Program to Help Children & Adolescents Develop & Enhance
Socialization Skills
Wendy Hasychak, L.P.C. - Program Director
Every child deserves the opportunity to grow socially, experience
the joy of playing with friends and academically succeed. Unfortunately,
disruptive class behavior, peer rejection and social alienation
can cause psychological difficulties that are reflected in poor
academic performance, low self-esteem and feelings of loneliness.
Social Achievers assumes a positive social skills approach to treating
children who suffer from peer rejection and social isolation by
teaching and building new behaviors that are pro-social, adaptive
and appropriate. Social Achievers is an interactive small group
program designed to develop social skills with school-aged children
and adolescents.
Social Achievers emphasizes five core social skills:
- Cooperation: Goals include ignoring class distractions from
classmates, making appropriate transitions, using free time appropriately,
finishing classroom assignments within time limits and following
teacher's instructions.
- Assertion: Goals include giving compliments, making appropriate
introductions, making positive self-statements, initiating conversations,
joining ongoing activities, and inviting others to join activities.
- Responsibility: Goals include asking adults for help, paying
attention to speakers, politely refusing unreasonable requests
from others, asking permission before using other people's property,
reporting accidents to appropriate persons, and responding to
compliments.
- Empathy: Goals include saying socially enhancing remarks to
others, nonverbally greeting or acknowledging others, feeling
sorry for others when bad things happen to them and listening
to adults when they are talking.
- Self Control: Goals include getting along with people who are
different, accepting peer's suggestions, cooperating with peers
without prompting, responding to peer pressure appropriately,
compromising in conflict situations, receiving criticism well,
and responding appropriately when pushed or hit by others.
Social Achievers builds social skills through group activities,
modeling behavior, coaching, behavioral rehearsal, social problem
solving, homework assignments and peer feedback.
